We are always looking for volunteers to fill various roles that help Bridport and District Citizens Advice operate successfully. We are a complex service and we are seeking people with a variety of skills. Most of our volunteers provide face to face and telephone advice to our clients. However, many people prefer to provide ‘back office’ support. This can range from helping with our administration or office management to becoming a trustee who guides our strategic direction and ensures good governance.
In return for your time, you will gain great job satisfaction, good support from colleagues and the certain knowledge that you are making a real difference, not only to our clients but our district and the wider community. For many of our volunteers it’s a chance to give back to their community. Others find it’s an opportunity to gain new skills and perspective and even make new friends. Regardless of your reason for volunteering we welcome the chance to discuss our job roles with you.
For all roles we ask that you have IT competence, good communication skills and a commitment to equality and diversity. For more specialist roles such as advisor and trustee we ask that you also have an ability to process and interpret complex information quickly and can work well in a team.
"We normally run two adviser training courses per year commencing in February and September with a maximum intake of 8 each. Please apply well in time for your chosen start date"
